Arthritic knee pain is common among active adult individuals in Malaysia. Knee Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type of arthritis. Usually By age 65, more than half of us will have X-ray evidence of osteoarthritis, a disease in which the cartilage that covers the ends of the bones at the joints breaks down and bony overgrowth occurs. You can’t fully prevent OA. But you can help lessen daily stress on your joints.

2.Exercise :Concentrate on non weight bearing or non gravity activity eg swimming and cycling

3.Avoid joint injuries :Joint injuries or ligament tears increase chances of getting osteoarthritis.

4.Neuromuscular and proprioceptive training programs are successful in preventing 50% of major knee injuries during sport

5.Biomechanical interventions, such as knee braces and thigh muscle strengthening exercise

6.Prevent over exertion of joints :gradual increase in intensity of exercise or sport
