Osteoporosis affects almost 70% of postmenopausal women, making it a pressing public health concern. Recent advancements in ideal calcium and vitamin D intake and supplementation have been promising. However, the potential role of supplementary trace and metal ions in enhancing calcium absorption and overall bone health in this group of patients is also being studied.

Another case report will delve into the management of long-standing hypocalcemia in a patient post-thyroidectomy showing continuous symptoms of hypocalcemia despite ten years of treatment with calcium carbonate. However, a recent switch to elemental calcium formulation proved to be the turning point, with the patient experiencing significant improvement in symptoms.
