Dr Sanjiv Publishes lastest development of Stem cell use in knee preservation research 2025

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking new paper. The title is “Effects of low glucose microenvironment on the proliferation, migration and senescence of meniscus-derived stem cells.” It is co-authored by our esteemed Prof. Sanjiv Rampal, published in Scientific Reports.

This pivotal research dives into the impact of different sugar (glucose) levels on Meniscus-derived Stem Cells (MeSCs). These are the vital cells in your knee’s shock-absorbing meniscus. Meniscus injuries are notoriously difficult to heal. MeSCs hold immense promise for repair through “cytotherapy.” A key challenge has been their performance when grown in the lab.

Prof. Sanjiv and the team’s work reveals that a low-glucose environment significantly enhances MeSCs. It improves their ability to grow. MeSCs move effectively. They also resist aging. This discovery could revolutionize how we prepare these powerful cells for therapeutic use. It could lead to more effective treatments for meniscus injuries. This would result in better outcomes for patients.

A huge congratulations to Prof. Sanjiv and the entire research team on this impactful contribution to the field!
