Knee osteoarthritis (OA), also known as a degenerative joint disease of the knee. It is the most common form of osteoarthritis in the knee joint. It is a degenerative,” wear-and-tear” type of osteoarthritis that most commonly occurs in people over the age of 50, but can also occur in younger people. In osteoarthritis, the cartilage in the knee joint is gradually wears away.
Over time, knee osteoarthritis can change the shape of the knee joint, making the joint feel unstable or wobbly, and therefore demand a further explanation of management by our expert Dr. Sanjiv Rampal, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
